Cleanup and Repair tries to solve many known problems by reinstalling, registering and removing items. Cleanup and
Repair only removes files that you do no longer need or that are automatically reinstalled by Windows.
Tasks that Cleanup and Repair performs include:
- Removal of temporary internet files
- Removal of temporay Windows files
- Removal of temporary Windows Update files
- (Re-)registering Windows DLL files
- (Re-)registering Internet Explorer DLL files
- (Re-)registering Windows Update files
- Re-install the Help and Support Center
- Create a restore point
- Remove unknown URL forwards
- Removal of Internet Explorer cookies
- Removal of installed Internet Explorer objects (These
are automatically re-offered when surfing the web)
